DIY Butterick 5209 Completed and Review

Hi I am finally completed with Butterick 5209 . This was a dress pattern that was in my stash that I had been staring at every time I pulled it out and never seemed to build up the courage to tackle it. Well, I did find the nerve about a week or so ago. Here is the whisper about this pattern. The V that is in the front was way too low for me. I didn't want to alter the pattern because I had never sewn one of the Retro patterns by Butterick and I wanted to keep it original just to see if it would pan out. Ok, I know that I am well endowed in the bust department, but the bodice is very loose fitting, adjustments are in order for this pattern. I am pleased with the length. It is just perfect for what I believe a vintage dress should be. This dress presents a perfect form,,,but it lacks real substance. New Look 6526 Review

Hi There, It's been awhile since my last post, but that's not to say that I haven't been busy. I have had quit the time the last 2 years. Some of what I've been up to, I've shared and others, I'm not so ready to be for coming with. So, I think I will start with the fact that I have been sewing a lot in the last 2 years and mending myself a little along the way. If you ever catch fabric fever you begin to love making your own garments. You learn to love the feel of fabric, the look of it, and the thrill of seeing new patterns as well as old ones. I have been spending a little time over at Craftsy taking a few online classes here and there. I kind of thought that there was always something that I could learn. Hi, Have you ever gone through a time with your sewing that just made everything you do seem "OFF"? Well, for the last 2 years, I have been experiencing a very low spirit, attitude, and just lack luster feeling towards my sewing. I have neglected my inner desires to be creative and not really feeling like talking about what's been hanging so gloom and doom over my machine and my fabric. Normally, fabric is my go to for high energy, but not even touching my beloved fabric has sparked my interest. When I get inspired by something that I see and want, my engine gets to turning and I get prepared with lots of zeal towards my new found idea.
